Singer Jessica Simpson and football player Eric Johnson are engaged it was announced on Sunday.
The 30 year old star was flaunting her ornate Ruby engagement ring at Dillard's department store in Kansas City on Saturday whilst promoting her new clothing line according to People magazine.
Simpson started dating the 31 year athlete in May after the pair were introduced to one another through mutual friends.
The Dukes of Hazzard's star reportedly revealed in an interview with People magazine that her and Eric were planning to spend Thanksgiving together. She told People:
"We're all gonna be in New York... I'm gonna be on a [Macy's parade] float. It's not always the best way to spend a Thanksgiving, but it's a great way to celebrate. So, maybe I'll just have all families on the float."
In his career Johnson has played for both the San Francisco 49ers and the New Orleans Saints. The 31 year old reportedly broke 11 records while playing wide receiver for Yale University.
The news comes just days after ex-husband Nick Lachey announced his engagement to Vanessa Minnillo. Simpson congratulated her former hubby saying:
"I couldn't be more happy for Nick."
The couple split 5 years ago in 2005 after years of marriage.
